Barcoding, Scanning OCR and Traceability
Online Industrial Validation System
Codeology’s Online Validation System offers a straightforward yet effective method for validating barcodes on products destined for pallets. This system includes a barcode scanner and standalone integral control software. By simply “teaching” the scanner with an example label or code, every subsequent barcode passing in front of the scanner is matched against the example. Successful reads trigger a green light and a “good read” output, while mismatches trigger a red light and a “bad read” output. Standard outputs allow for alarm activation and conveyor stops, with options for pneumatic solenoids and Ethernet communication for traceability and efficiency calculations.
Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
Codeology’s Optical Character Recognition (OCR) system enhances online validation by using a camera instead of a barcode scanner. It checks not only barcodes but also the quality and data of human-readable information. Once taught the correct data and quality standards, the OCR system ensures every label or print meets these standards. A green light and “OK” output signal a match, while a red light and “Fail” output indicate deviations. Standard outputs allow for alarm activation and conveyor stops, with optional pneumatic solenoids and Ethernet communication for efficiency and traceability.
